Note
IMPORTANT: This is a custom algorithm. Please contact BPM before using. Data Buffer Organization:
Data File | BPWin Buffer Address (hex) |
CID | 00_0000_0000 – 00_0000_000F |
OCR | 00_0000_1000 – 00_0000_1003 |
CSD | 00_0000_2000 – 00_0000_200F |
Pre-Enhancement ECSD | 00_0000_3000 – 00_0000_31FF |
Post-Enhancement ECSD | 00_0000_4000 – 00_0000_41FF |
Configuration File | 00_0000_5000 – 00_0000_5FFF |
Firmware File | 00_0001_0000 – 00_0008_0BFF |
Boot Partition 0 | 00_0100_0000 – 00_013F_FFFF |
Boot Partition 1 | 00_0140_0000 – 00_017F_FFFF |
User Data Area (Pre-Enhancement) | 00_0180_0000 – 01_C97F_FFFF |
Special Device Considerations:
1. | The algorithm will log the current CID OCR CSD ECSDand Product Information returned by the vendor specific command. | 2. | All values read from the device will be written to a log file located in your Auto Save Job Summary Report directory. This feature must be enabled otherwise the algorithm will fail.To enable please go to File->Configure and check Enable under Auto Save Job Summary Report. |
3. | For the CID the algorithm will check against the CID data file.In particular it will check the MID CBX OID PNM and PRV. |
4. | For the current OCR the algorithm will check against the OCR data file. The entire OCR will be checked. |
5. | For the current CSD the algorithm will check against the CSD data file. The entire CSD except the checksum and stop bit will be checked. |
6. | For the pre-enhancement ECSD the algorithm will check against the pre-enhancement ECSD data file. For MLC devices and for the initial pass on pSLC devices the algorithm will check settings related topSLC enhancement to verify they are in the initial state. The algorithm will also check the MAX_PRE_LOADING_DATA_SIZE[21:18] FIRMWARE_VERSION[261:254]PRE_EOL_INFO[267] DEVICE_LIFE_TIME_EST_TYP_A[268] and DEVICE_LIFE_TIME_EST_TYP_B[269]. |
7. | For the post-enhancement ECSD the algorithm will check against the post-enhancement ECSD data file. For MLC devices the algorithm will just check against the pre-enhancement ECSD data file again. |
8. | The configuration file must list the following fields:Average Erase Count of MLC Average Erase Count of SLC and pSLC. |
9. | The pSLC conversion setting will read from the pSLC field in the configuration file by default. The pSLC conversion can be explicitly disabled under Device->Settings. |
10. | After the pSLC conversion the algorithm will check and log the ECSD settingsagainst the post-enhancement ECSD data file. |
11. | The algorithm will attempt to erase the device (boot partitions and user data area)program the test data loaded in the data buffer verify the data erase the device againand verify that the device is blank. This test will be performed after the pSLC conversion if it is enabled. |
12. | After the data programming and verification tests the algorithm will repeat the logging forthe various device registers and Product Information. The values used for the ECSD check will change based on the pSLC-related settings. |
13. | Under Device->Settings it is recommended to reduce the High Device Address based on the end of the test data file. This will reduce the time required for the data programming and verification tests. |
14. | Under Device->Settings enabling auto range will skip the blank portions of the data bufferused for the data programming and verification tests. However when verifying that the device is blank the full selected range will be used. The Skip blank checking empty Data Pattern regions setting will reduce the range that is verified to be blankto the same range as the initial programming and verification. |
15. | If using the Field Firmware Update process it must be enabled under Device->Settings. |
