BPM 3000/4000 Series Autohandler
- Improved site stepper motor cycling on 8th and 7th generation APS by stopping the motors when the interlock is open. 9th Gen automated programmers already have this behavior.
- Increased the range of 9th Gen socket motor force, up to 40 lbs.
- Changed the 3D inspection motion sequence for leaded devices to capture images in a two-step inspection process.
Device Programming Enhancements
- Added support for Renesas RPI Data Pattern file format.
- Enabled BPWIn to update the CPLD pattern for some legacy 9th Gen manual programmers. If your programmer requires an update, the CPLD will be reflashed automatically within approximately 10 seconds. Please run diagnostics after the update and reload your programming job.
- Improved buffer blank check feature to limit the error conditions to only Program, Verify, and Compare operations.
- Fixed bug for Renesas UPD70F3532F1A9-KN7-Q-A (HCU Hex) on 9th Gen programmers.

BPWin Highlights
- Added a feature to secure JobMaster files and ensure they can never be modified. This feature can be found in the JobMaster/Configure named “Lockdown JobMaster Files”. When JobMaster files are saved while this is checked those JobMaster files will disallow changes to any settings, regardless of the user having entered the Supervisor password and/or the Job Protection password. This feature is ideal for critical job files that must not change.
- Added checks to ensure hardware & software compatibility on 9th Gen programmers. 9th Gen programmers with CPLD versions prior to 107h will require an update which will be made available in BPWin 6.4.3. Run diagnostics to determine the site CPLD version.
BPM 3000/4000 Series Autohandler
- Fixed an issue happening on upward vision systems where vision alignment was skipped when using the label presenter. This applies to the 3800MK2 and 3900 APS.
- Resolved intermittent site motor failures that sometimes occur when the APS door is opened during the site open/close cycle.
- Fixed a crash experienced when running a job session with Mechanical Benchmark as the device selection with an empty buffer.
Device Programming Enhancements
- Resolved Read and Compare issues for eMMC devices on 9th Gen.
- Added a feature which allows the user to abort the checksum calculation while loading a data pattern.

BPWin Highlights
In the latest BPWin release, we’ve implemented a new feature that allows our users to retry all device operation failures, which improves the job yield. Other highlights include:
- Improving our debugging tools to allow us to resolve most issues faster.
- Improving 8th and 9th generation site initialization upon BPWin startup by reducing firmware download average time by 28%.
BPM 3000/4000 Series Autohandler
- Resolved error handling when an automated programmer stops moving after a placement failure on the 3800MK2 and 3900 model autohandlers.
- Improved the pick retry feature that allows the handler to compensate for tray irregularities or similar events when the initial pick attempt fails.
- Resolved a random issue where site stepper motors do not fully cycle on 9th Gen automated programming sites.
- Added a message to the operator indicating it is necessary to close the safety door interlock when trying to execute the open/close socket feature.
- Updated the process instructions when fast validating multiple sites. Removed message to “remove device” when not applicable.
- Improved the description of the socket disable feature in the programmer settings so that socket failures are distinguished from site failures.
- Updated the Z encoder error message with additional instructions and troubleshooting information.
Device Programming Enhancements
- Enhanced reporting so that the BPWin Job Summary Report now lists a count of all device operation failure types that have occurred for each socket.
- Enabled 9th Gen firmware to categorize and log fatal errors in the blackbox file.
- Resolved an issue where BPWin was invoking serialization at the wrong time for pre-broadcast algorithms.
- Fixed a problem to allow BPWinLauncher to launch the correct version of BPWin if the .bp file was created in BPWin v6.2.10 or later.
- Updated replacement socket information published on our website so that only sockets installed with receptacles are identified as the “replacement socket.”
- Improved the job summary report to properly identify the last serial number used in a serialization job.

BPWin Versioning Updates
- Effective with BPWin 6.4.0, we have adopted a simplified sequential software versioning scheme to include the release number and date. BPWin “Betas” (what we called Algo releases) will no longer be released. Rather, algorithm updates will adopt the current major and minor version of BPWin posted on the BPM website designated by “DeviceSupportUpdate.x” and the date of release. For Example:
This release, BPWin 6.4.0 (9/17/2018) will be followed by “6.4.0 DeviceSupportUpdate.1 (9/18/2018)” which will include algorithm additions and updates. The following release with algorithm additions and updates will be “6.4.0 DeviceSupportUpdate.2 (9/19/2018)” and so on. Release numbers that include “DeviceSupportUpdate.x” replace those versions previously identified as “beta.”
BPM 3000/4000 Series Autohandler
- BPM Microsystems announces the release of the 3910 Automated Programming System. The new model uses CyberOptics vision technology for precise on-the-fly alignment and significant motion control improvements to increase throughput up to 1,432 devices per hour. The 3910 adopts industry-leading 9th Gen programming technology, component automeasure and award-winning WhisperTeach™ technology to automate critical Z-Teach locations.
- We’ve added improvements to component alignment system error messages. Error messages will provide relevant information rather than simply an error code.
Device Programming Enhancements and Bug Fixes
- Improved error handling with jobs using simple serialization; in the event the serialization data file cannot be accessed, there will no longer be instances where the serialization log file erroneously suggests that a duplicate serial number was attempted to be used. Instead, the message will indicate that no device operation was performed and no serial numbers were used after the error.
- Enhanced the signal integrity test between the 9th Gen programming site and the Diagnostics Card (FXASM9XDIAG). The test includes all 240 pin drivers and other signals to confirm your programmer is fully operational.
- Optimized pin-driver timing to improve emulation between legacy programmers and 9th Gen programmers for specific devices. (This improvement does not impact JobMaster files.)
- Resolved a “Site Authentication Failure” error that can occur with some configurations by improving USB communication between the host computer and the programming site.
- Fixed a problem when trying to set the master site via the BPWin API; now the master site configures properly.

Device Programming
- Resolved an issue where BPWin would crash on startup on some Windows 10 computers.
- A bug is fixed when the user is trying to change power supply settings.
- Before all device operations, all operation ranges of the device will be compared against Default Buffer Value, and if by that criteria they are found to be “blank” then BPWin will now prompt the user whether to continue with the operation.
- The auto range blank check is disabled for erase and read operations.
- Updated diagnostics to display which socket card locations are passing or failing diagnostics when socket cards are connected.
- Added support for FXASM9XDIAG diagnostics card for 9th Gen.
